The first edition of this biography of illustrator Aubrey Beardsley in the original publisher's binding. First edition of Aubrey Beardsley The Man and His Work by Haldane Macfall in the original publisher's cloth binding. This biography of the English illustrator and author is illustrated with thirteen monochrome plates. Collated, complete. Beardsley was a leading figure in the aesthetic movement and much of his work was inspired by Japanese woodcuts. He is known for his contribution to poster styles and Art Nouveau.  In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, very smart. There is some minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are very bright and clean. There is some slight spotting to the endpapers. Very Good Indeed

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
