Previous owners name in ink to rear free end paper small stain to upper front and upper rear covers, a very good to nearly fine copy in a nearly fine dust jacket with some even mild color fade to spine panel and stress creases to upper spine panel and upper right front corner (note: upper front flap corner clipped). Front panel color is nice and bright. Part of an original single owner collection. (27521). Octavo, jacket illustration by Kenneth Fagg (flap credit) or Paul Orban (title page credit), cloth. Sea-dwelling Atlanteans astride creatures thought to be extinct for millions of years capture an atomic powered submarine on its first depth test run and drag it to their giant "city of no return" on the ocean floor. Part of the popular Winston juvenile series published between 1952-1961, which introduced many young readers to science fiction.
Synopsis
Attack From Atlantis (1953) is a Science fiction novel written by Lester del Rey. The story follows the new Triton submarine on her maiden voyage, but trouble happens when the crew comes face to face with the inhabitants of the underwater city Atlantis. Attack from Atlantis is a part of the Winston Science Fiction set, a series of juvenile novels.
