Haab's Atlas, num. text figs in other papers; internally clean, tight & unmarked, fr.free endpaper has some thinning to top outer corner & is sl. browned; covers clean and minimally worn bar nicks to sp. ends & sl. rubbing of extremeties, but sp., fr. edges & back fore-edge faded. This volume also contains several historical papers by W.B.Barker (on Kepler, Newton and Pepys) and a note on Newton by R.A. Houston as well as other technical papers on glaucoma, strabismus, lenses etc. plus one on 'Optical Products of Minoan Civilisation' by H.L.Taylor. This new Haab Atlas translation appears in instalments throughout the volume and updated the earlier translation, re-printing col. ills. from original plates. 1st trans Ernest Clarke in 1895, same year as orig. German. Scarce, esp.in this original format.
