Philadelphia: Blanchard & Lea, 1856. 1st American edition. Cloth. 1st American edition. A Fair copy. 4to., vi, 7-40 pp., illustrated with 16 hand-colored plates recto, with text and captions verso. Bound in the publisher's brown cloth with title in gilt on the front board. Foxed throughout. Tissue guards intact. Plate 8 loose but present. Light soiling to the boards, with some vermin chewing along the spine. Neligan (1815-1863) was an Irish born physician and author of medical books.
