First edition in English, 8vo, pp. [6], 9-94; photographic frontispiece portrait, 37 illustrations in text (some in color), and 1 folding plate; fine copy in publisher's black cloth, dust jacket with small loss at the top of the front panel, else fine. The first English translation, by Ruari McLean, of a modern classic originally published in Switzerland in 1935.
