About This Item
Atlanta, Ga.: Putnam's Sons, 1897. Hardcover. Very Good+. Early edition, Volume II only - but each volume stands alone as works. Originally issued in 1836. Very Good + volume bound in red buckram with elaborate gilt design on front cover. Spine title has dulled. Very gently worn corners; barely frayed spine crown and foot. This is the beautiful Tacoma Edition, with each pages text framed in a designed border. Each b/w illustration has an intact tissue guard. Publishers deckled fore edge and gilt top edge. Front inner hinge is tight, but paper has pulled away a tad to expose webbing slightly. Blank front free end-paper has a 1/2" chip to top edge. A 1 inch 'bookplate' with a tiny printed name of "M. Jungbluth" on inside cover. Contains 13 b/w illustrations. 391 pages. Protected in stiff mylar. Heavy volume, suggest Media postage.
