About This Item
New York: Beechhurst Press, 1948. First Printing of First American Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Lacking. 511 pages (pages 81-511 plates) : illustrations (some color) ; 32 cm. Tall 4to. Hardcover. Publisher's original super dark-green cloth over boards, stamped in gilt to spine and upper cover. Book Condition: PO name to ffep; showing the typical signs of wear expected for a very large, heavy, 70 year old volume; lettering dulled, spine ends and tips frazzled, some looseness in the binding...else fine. Dust Jacket Condition: lacking. An amazing book though, virtually all plates or lists of plates, and while the 7 color plates are always mentioned for our money it's the b&w plates that stand out for pure dramatic effect. A stand-out title.
