About This Item
Doubleday Books, 1986. Hardcover. Good/Good . 9x5x0. This autobiography interweaves the stories of the famous father and son adventurers, their separate impressions of the lives they have lived with one another and apart, and their pioneering expeditions to the top of the world. Sir Edmund Percival Hillary (1919 â 2008) was a New Zealand mountaineer, explorer, and philanthropist. On 29 May 1953, Hillary and Sherpa mountaineer Tenzing Norgay became the first climbers confirmed to have reached the summit of Mount Everest. They were part of the ninth British expedition to Everest, led by John Hunt.
