Tokyo: Asahi Newspaper, 1961. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. FIRST PRINTING of FIRST EDITION. Original yellow boards, grey lettering cover and spine. Clean, very good condition with no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, clean covers, tight binding, rubbing very tips outside corners, complete with all maps and plates. Book measures 263mm tall x 18cm, 72pp text + 65pp photo plates (106 b/w photos & 2 color photos), 2 maps on one foldout, 8 sketches. Text in japanese. Account of the first ascent of Noshaq (7492m) in the Hindu Kush (not Pamirs as title incorrectly suggests). Two reached the summit from the south after ascending the ridge to the south of Noshaq West, from approach up the Quzi Deh Glacier to the col at its head.
