London: Elek Books, 1955. First Edition . Hardcover. Worn/No Jacket. FIRST PRINTING of the First UK Edition. Original greenish blue cloth, spine lettered in gilt. LACKING dust wrapper. CONDITION: front cover rubbed through cloth 2cm along very top edge near spine and another 2cm near middle, some light staining rear cover, spine gilt faded, verso of pre-title page has some cello tape staining (but not sticky), photo plates of the team portraits have some wrinkling and 2cm tear to lower margin, tight binding, no foxing, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, pages are clean, NOT Ex-library. Worn condition but complete and not falling apart. Official account of the first ascent of K2 by high-powered Italian expedition led by the author. PHOTOS ARE OF ACTUAL BOOK BEING OFFERED (NOT A STOCK PHOTO).
