About This Item

Brooklyn, NY: Hamilton Easter Field, 1921. Good. Tall octavo. Printed and decorated gray wrappers. First edition. Cover art by Robert Laurent. Full and half-page black and white reproductions of important art exhibited during the first quarter of the twentieth century. Art and artists, exhibitions, books, letters and opinions of the editor/ publisher/noted artist enhance the enjoyment of this highly personal arts monthly. Advertisements for art galleries, art supplies, artist's studios and apartments, private art sales, etc., precede and follow the text. From the private collection of the Bloomsbury / Hogarth Press William Beekman, whose bookplate is laid in. All edges ruffled, snagged with small tears, upper panel has small red smudge, spine cracked and split, else good and thoroughly enjoyable. Field reviews the book, SOME CONTEMPORARY ENGLISH ARTISTS, Birrell & Garnett, London, 1921, [which is available elsewhere on this website] on page 58.
