London: Hamish Hamilton, 1947. 2nd Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. This copy is inscribed by Enid Starkie to the Irish novelist Kate O'Brien with a long passage in French language, hand written on the front end paper and dated Christmas 1947. Bound in the original dark red cloth with gilt title on the spine, some fading and one or two blemishes, but remaining neat and robust. Hinge and text block tight, end paper a bit spotty, thereafter pages smooth and clean and clear. A unique copy. May incur additional postage charges overseas.
