Virtue: 1862) Half leather bound, five raised bands (that is, hard covers) pp. viii, 244 PLUS 'The Art Journal Illustrated Catalogue of the International Exhibition 1862' of pp. xii, 324, being a substantial illustrated account of this important event (335 x 255 mm) The 'Art Journal' itself includes plates additional to the pagination (tissue-guards present) of which twelve are engraved plates after Turner. The boards, the edges and the endpapers are all marbled. Head and foot of spine and corners and edges of boards worn; spine and boards rubbed and a little scuffed; the top board detached; marginal staining to some of the plates but does not impinge on the images themselves; otherwise an internally very good copy.
