About This Item

London, UK: Cassell, 1960. 1st Edition 1st Impression. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. 1st edition, 1st printing. [vi], 248pp, with occasional illustrative, musical scores. In red cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine. 8vo. Boards a little faded on extreme edges, gently rubbed and rounded on corners and spine ends. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight barring small pen mark on front free endpaper. In its original, price-clipped dust jacket, gently rubbed at edges with very slightly chipping at corners and spine ends. Striking dust jacket designed by Paul Oliver, making this a way more attractive edition than the book club equivalent issued two years later.
