The text is illustrated with colour reproductions of artwork, colour illustrations and black-and-white photographs and illustrations. Plain text paperback binding with gilt and black coloured titles to the front panel. The book still has its posting envelope – a white coloured cardboard box with part reproduction of the front cover to the front of the envelope. A book that was published for educational purposes and art appreciation for schools, taking 12 Modern Australian paintings from the Art Gallery of New South Wales for educational purposes. Artists include Russell Drysdale, William Rose and John Rigby to name but three. Creasing of the book corners with rubbing of the book edges and panels. There are a couple of horizontal creases to the back strip; and, results of insect activity can be seen to the right-hand and left-hand edges of the front panel and the length of the back strip, most noticeable to the lower edge. The text is clean and bright. The posting envelope is very much showing age and wear: – please see photographs. The front panel is rubbed, shows handling marks, stains and insect activity. The edges are creased, bumped, and, in some places the edges are quite eroded. The rear panel shows where the tape to hold the panels together has been removed, stains, rubbing, and general age-related damage. Size: elephant folio. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
