About This Item

London: Offices of the Studio , 1908. Edge and corner worn, small piece missing at the top and base of the spine, spine is discolored, board peeking through at the base of the front cover, scuffed and scratched, overall a wonderfully well-preserved, collectible first edition! 120 historical pages beautifully enhanced by black and white and full-color illustrations! Original gilt, decorated cloth! "Amongst the illustrations to be found in the following pages probably none will interest the reader more than the pencil drawings by William Twopeny, reproduced here by the courtesy of Mr. Charles Twopeny and the authorities of the British Museum. These delightful sketches were made during the early part of the last century, and, apart from their high artistic qualities, their value as authentic records of houses and details, many of which no longer exist----at any rate in their original state----cannot be over-estimated. First Edition. Green Cloth. Fair/No Jacket. Folio - over 12" - 15" tall. Hardcover.
