About This Item

NY: D. Appleton & Co.. Poor with no dust jacket. 1870. First Ace Edition. Decorated Cloth. Fep is missing, and the rear hinge is starting to crack, but the balance of the interior is fine or better. The book is very tight. However, what would have graded as at least "very good" becomes a "binding copy", due to gross damage to the spine. The upper 2/3's of the left half of the spine is simply missing. The upper edge of the right half of the spine is present but chipped. The covers are soiled, but intact, and the gilt is only slightly dulled. ; 7x9 1/2" .
