Philadelphia: J.H. Pearsol & Co, 1845. Hardcover. First Edition. 5.5 x 9.5in. viii. 624pp. 2 large folding engraved plates and numerous miniatures. Bound in full calf of the period with leather titles labels in gilt. Gilt decoration. VERY GOOD. Shows the binding well rubbed, extremely light trace foxing throughout, both plates have closed tears at the hinge which are not obstructive of the images, otherwise the binding is strong and tight, the text is unmarked, and the boards remain distinct. As pictured.
