Map Illustrated endpapers, showing the route taken by the Spanish Armada to England and the English and Spanish fleets in the English Channel. The text is illustrated with numerous contemporary black-and-white and colour illustrations, black-and-white and colour photographs and illustrations and maps. The book is bound in a leather look binding with gilt titling and gilt on the front panel as well as a pasted on illustration, showing the epic battle of the English and Spanish navies in 1588. A little rubbing to the book corners. Ownership details at the bottom right-hand corner of the half title page. No other damage to describe.
