The text is illustrated with numerous contemporary black-and-white and colour illustrations, black-and-white and colour photographs and illustrations and maps. The book is bound in a leather look binding with gilt titling and gilt on the front panel as well as a pasted on illustration, showing the epic battle of the English and Spanish navies in 1588. A little rubbing to the book corners. Ownership details at the bottom right-hand corner of the half title page. No other damage to describe.
