Illustrator: Photographic. foreword by William McLeod Raine, introduction by author, 4 appendices, book list and index. The text is illustrated with contemporary black-and-white photographs. Map illustrated endpapers showing the Arizona territory and the area involved. Red coloured cloth covered boards with gilt titles to the backstrip. Illustrated dustwrapper with black, white and brown coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. A retelling of one of the most deadly of range wars in American West history, that became known as the Pleasant Valley war. The feud between the Graham and Tewkesbury families was of such intensity and violence that almost every principle of the families were killed. Softening of the backstrip and rubbing to the book corners. Some flecking to the lower book edges. Browning and foxing to the textblock edges and to the internal text. Chipping to the backstrip edges and to the dustwrapper corners. There are numerous tears along the dustwrapper edges, ranging from 0.25 " to a 3.5 " tear to the lower left-hand corner of the rear dustwrapper panel. That dustwrapper has become quite brown and shows foxing and handling marks. Clipping of the dustwrapper, find fold over, lower right-hand corner. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. (4), 5-224 pages,.
