Published for the Author By Fords, Howard & Hulbert, 1890. First Edition. Unknown. Fair/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" Rare first edition of this classic Gold Rish title. Disbound copy, needs rebinding. Rear cover present, front cover and spine missing; sewing intact but first signature loose; some marginal stains and internal stains to some leaves; tears to margins of a few leaves). First blank inscribed: 'Margaret Watkins from Mama & Papa'. 'Especially valuable because of the list of names of pioneers before 1850' - Graff. Howes notes that there are 35,000 of them.
