A handsome little compact volume broadly introducing the subject of archaeology with text and color drawings. Popular German writer Kurt Wilhelm Marek (1915-72) wrote his books under the pseudonym C. W. Ceram. 46 pp. plus index. Endpapers show artifacts dug up plus ruins and temples, statues, tombs, instruments etc.
