New York: Printed By Order of The Trustees, 1931. Hardcover. VG (overall staining and wear to boards, corners bumped, foxing to text block, text and illustrations are otherwise clean and clear). Pale yellow cloth boards with gilt lettering on front cover and spine, 7 preliminary leaves, 159 pages including plates folded color frontispiece, LXXXVIII plates (some color, part double; including plans) on 78 leaves, folded plates. Translated from the French by Clara L. Penney with 94 plates, 38 in colour, chiefly from water colours and drawings by the author in the collection of The Hispanic Society of America. "The deeply regretted death of Mr. Bonsor left this manuscript unfinished. It is issued with chapters three and six incomplete and without his revision of the translation." Includes a list of plates and an index of water colours and drawings by number. Contents include: Introduction, Plans of the Tombs, Arrangement of the Funerary Furniture, Monumental Tombs (unfinished), Mural Paintings, Various Objects in the Museum of the Roman Necropolis at Carmona, Views of the Museum, Statues, and Principal Tombs (unfinished), Notes, References, and Index.
