Book Condition: faint signs of handling, bonk to top edge of lower cover else fine; interior bright and unmarked, pristine. Dust Jacket Condition: none issued. A sharp copy. With 390 full page plates, each with bibliographic listing information including price for material featured in each of the 390 entries. An extraordinary resource from an important gallery, bookseller and publisher. From the paragraph printed on the spine: "KARMA is a bookstore, gallery and publisher specializing in artist publications, located in the West Village of New York City. In addition to its own titles, Karma stocks periodicals, artworks, artists' editions, rare and out-of-print items and other in-print titles by noted publishers." Provenance of this piece: purchased from Karma personally (with receipt upon request). As explained to us on that sunny spring day Karma had recently received proofs from the printer what was to be their first physical catalog ever, to be printed in a run large enough to mail copies out to all the names on thier client list; there were two proofs sent by the printer for approval, of which this is one. Ultimately, the superior production quality called for in the design resulted in a quote for printing that was too expensive to produce and have any hope of breaking even no matter how successful the catalog was and there were never any additional copies printed.
