Bobbs-Merrill Company. Indianapolis. Copyright page shows October, 1909., 1909 Book size about 7 by 9 inches with some 152 pages. Professionally rebound in maroon cloth with new end papers, retaining the full front cover color pictorial paste-on. Illustrated with a frontis and six full page images on glossy paper with smaller drawings at the head of each chapter, all by Virginia Keep. The Live Doll books were the Harry Potter books of their day among the doll loving set. The books were simply read to death which explains their scarcity today. Covers with no sign of wear; front cover paste-on looks its age but is in nice condition; pages with much evidence of fingering along the edges.
