Yellow cloth with black drawing of boy to the front and black lettering to the spine. 1951 Newberry award winner ( no sticker to DJ). This copy is VG in a Vg, unclipped ($2.75) DJ. Exterior has moderate /significant foxing toward the edges, but little edge, tip, or spine end wear. Inside is unmarked, crisp, and firmly bound. Pictorial/story EPs. 184 pp. DJ has modest foxing, soiling, but little edge wear other than two very small closed tears. A lovely, touching example of using a beautifully written story to teach the ABC's..
