New Brunswick, NJ: Abraham Blauvelt, 1796. Leather_bound. Very Good. 24 mo. in original full calf covered boards but respined in modern brown cloth tape. 201 pp. + verso mprinted advert page for "An Apology For Christianity" + (12 subscriber list). Original endpapers retained, with an ownership signature on the rear pastedown. Another small ownership signature and notation "Maple Shade, NJ" top corner of title page. Embrowning and scattered foxing to the text. (Felcone 2825). Highly popular response and refutation of the second part of Paine's "Age of Reason" and his deist criticism of "revealed religion". One of the first American editions, published the same year as the British. The American edition was published by a number of American printers in 1796 with, we believe, priority undetermined.
