This series was limited to 650 copies of each issue, issued bi-monthly during 1939, for a total of 6 issues in the set. Offered here is only a single issue. Each issue presented a historical sketch by a California writer, with each issue designed and printed by a different, California based small/fine press. This issue here is designed and printed by Johnck & Seeger, San Francisco. Chapbook approximate size is 9.5"T x 6.5"W, with a hand-sewn binding. 13 pages, thick stock quality paper. This is in solid VERY GOOD condition. Minor shelfwear to the edges, pages clean and free of markings. Very light toning to the edges of the front & rear covers. Preserved in an acid-free archival bag. Gift or collection quality.

Book Club of California, 1939 part five of six California Tales Series Staplebound in good condition, text is clean and unmarked, binding tight. Cover is clean. Morrow wrote mainly short stories and worked on newspapers in San Jose and San Francisco as well as several literary weeklies. He became known for his bizarre themes and the meticulous craftsmanship of his writing. This story was published by Lippincott in 1897 where it appeared under the title of Resurrection of Little Wang Tai. This is a nice collectible edition of this title. 13 pages.
