New York: The Hobart Company, 1903. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo. [4], 5-328, [2], [1] (page of publisher's advertisements), [1], [1] (page of publisher's advertisements), [2] pp. Red cloth with white lettering on the front board and spine, white and black decorations on the front board. Illustrated with a frontispiece and with seven plates by Frederick Remington and Edwin Willard Deming. The variant without the pictorial inset on the front board. King was a military officer during the Sioux Wars, and would later fight members of the Apache tribe during his career. Spine lettering partially rubbed away.
