About This Item

Philadelphia: Press of Allen, Lane & Scott, 1902. Hardcover. First Edition, First Printing. 7 x 10.5in. 230pp. 3 large folding maps. Publisher's cloth boards with gilt titling. Signed by the author on the title page: "From the author." An exceptional ex-library copy having been gifted by the author to the University of Virginia with their presentation book-plate at the front paste-down. VERY GOOD. Shows the bottommost of the spine somewhat rubbed, marginal shelf rubbing of the extremities, call number and small stamp of the University of Virginia on the spine and title page respectively, front hinge has been neatly repaired, the first map with very slight creasing in one margin, otherwise the binding is strong and tight, the text is clean and unmarked, the maps are pristine, and the boards remain bright and distinct. As pictured.
