This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover with dust jacket. This copy is crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are crisp, clean, with no markings seen. Binding tight and straight. Hardcover boards under jacket are also near fine, illustrated in blue with cream background and blue quarter trim. The dust jacket is almost like new, showing light shelf wear along edges/corners but still clean and shiny. Larger rectangle size, 9.5" x9.5" with 284 pages including index.

This First Annotated Edition of The Phantom Tollbooth is illustrated by Jules Feiffer and annotated by Leonard S. Marcus. Marcus annotations draws upon exclusive interviews with the author and illustrator and illuminating excerpts from Juster's notes and drafts - and include cultural and literary comentary, artistic content and background, along with Marcus's insights about the book.
