Collection of 12 glossy color postcards (5.5" x 3.5") of astronomical photos taken at Hale Observatory. The back of each post card has a brief description of the photo and the name and size of the telescope used. Photos copyrighted by the California Institute of Technology and the Carnegie Institution of Washington. Contents include: Veil Nebula, Ring Nebula, Great Nebula in Orion, Spiral Galaxy in Andromeda, Lagoon and Trifid Nebulae, The Pleiades, Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, Crab Nebula, Horsehead Nebula, North America Nebula. Postcards contained in a white cut-out folder. All post cards are in very good condition. Folder is in good condition with some nicks and tears along edges and a few small holes and light overall scuffing and soiling. NOT Ex-Library.

Carnegie Institute of Technology. VG+. 1961. Self-wraps. In very good plus condition with only light usage showing. Light greenish-gray covers with gold lettering on spine and simple gold drawing of a flower on front. There is a very thin light stain on front cover by right outside edge measuring 1 x 1/16. Text is clean/tight with 3 tipped-in color illustrations. One is the frontispiece of Rachel Hunt and the other two are of a passion flower on page 14 and a hyacinthus on page 23. Between pages 2 and 3 there is a b/w fold-out illustrated floor plan and furniture layout drawing of the Hunt Botanical Library. A few b/w photos and illustrations throughout rest of book.
