New York: Selmar Hess, Publisher. Wraps. Good. no date, presumed 1880s. Blue printed wraps. Pagination runs 71-102, with text beginning mid-sentence on the first page, and presumably ending mid-passage at the rear. Black and white plates of the Osprey and Sea Eagle at the front, with black and white illustrations of the chanting falcon and various owls throughout. A single part (#24) of this work that is often found as a complete bound volume, presumably originally issued in parts as this. With sections on the Virginian Eared Owl, the Carolina Goat-sucker, the secretary bird and others. GOOD condition. Offsetting along the wrappers' extremities. Minor soiling, fading and toning. Faint owner's stamp on the lower front cover. Minor toning in the interior.
