Description: Illustrated in black and white with photographs and drawings. Note that the alligator is included in this book on ''the fur animals of Louisiana'' (the alligator section acknowledges and explains this anomaly). Some information on the history of fur trade in general, and Louisiana in particular, with about two-thirds of the book being devoted to sections on different animals, with a good deal of space devoted to the muskrat. Originally published in 1928.
