New York: William Morrow & Company, 1928. First edition [1928] of this hard-to-find introduction to larger animals, mainly mammals. Light blue-gray hardcover with lettering and animal silhouettes in dark blue, red cloth spine, 48 pages, red dustjacket printed in black. Light edge rubbing, good hinges, sound text block, very clean pages free from names or other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is not priceclipped and has some shelf soil and edge chipping, mainly at the top edge of the front panel, smaller chips to the bottom of the rear panel, several closed tears, about one to two percent paper loss overall. Includes a full-page woodcut design plus description of each of the following animals: elephant, tapir, rhinoceros, hippopotamus, wild boar, camel, llama, giraffe, okapi, elk, red deer, nilgai, ibex, yak, American bison, zebra, kangaroo, lion, sea lion, wolf. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
