Andrew's Grandpa Brown is an angler, birder, hunter, and conservationist. For Andrew's eighth birthday, Grandpa gives the youngster a fishing rod and reel and a tackle box loaded with lures. Andrew learns many things from the experienced angler, including how to use his new fishing gear for different types of fishing and how to identify some common species of Manitoba fish. Grandpa also teaches Andrew the importance of following the regulations set out in Manitoba's Anglers' Guide and about fishing ethics -- the unwritten laws of angling. They have fun together on their fishing adventures and, through his example, Grandpa instills in Andrew a life-long love of fishing. 150 grams.
