Fair+/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. frontis print "Timoclea brought before Alexander the Great', x, 831 pp., book shows a great deal of wear, covering on boards front & back mostly worn away with fragments extant, spine ends & corners bumped & worn, spine has worn title label, most leather on spine is creased & worn, edge wear, spine is has a one-inch split at top front edge, all edges browned & toned, foxing on end papers front, back, edges & on fold-out map, signed & dated on ffep with ink by an owner in 1828, pencil date on rear paste down 1830, front hinge is cracked but book is intact, foxing & tining throughout, with general soiling. [With geographical, topographical, historical, and critical notes and a life of the author by james Bell. Illustrated with engravings, including a comnplete set of maps.] [01]
