In Eight Volumes, with chronological table and index to the set in volume 8. The Eleventh Edition, Revised, Corrected, and Illustrated with a Set of Maps Newly Engraved. 3/4 leather, with leather labels, raised bands, fair to acceptable condition. All volumes worn at edges and rubbed, two boards are inexpertly reattached, and boards and spine on volume VIII are detached but present and whole. Leather label on volume V is missing. Text is good except for foxed pages at the end of IV, maps are in good to very good condition. Sixteen (16) engraved, folding maps by volume: Volume I, 4 maps (including large foldout of Hannibal's Expedition); Volume II, 4 maps; Volume III, 3 maps; Vol. V, 5 maps.
