In deep red cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine (cloth very slightly rounded at spine tips). Internally a hint of creaminess on pages, else neat, clean and tight. In its original dust jacket (a little bumped at spine ends and along rear upper edge). Small folio. A beautiful book reproducing Charles Hamilton Smith's 1811 work on the costume, dress and clothes of people in the Dark Ages and Middle Ages. A fascinating study of costume history, it is also a rich resource of source material for students of costume and designers. A large and heavy volume which may incur an additional charge for overseas delivery.
