New York: Mother Earth Publishing Association, 1911. Second Revised Edition. Hardcover. Octavo, 277 pages, [8] ads. In Very Good condition. Bound in publisher's original beige cloth, black titling to spine and front cover. Light shelfwear. Minor newspaper discoloration to verso of front free endpaper, recto of frontispiece, rear endpapers, pages 14 and 15. Signed by Emma Goldman in pencil on front endpaper, also with a pencil date of 2/13/16, possibly in a different hand. Scarce found signed. Title page reads 'Second Revised Edition', front cover reads 'Third Edition'. EF consignment. Shelved in Case 3. First issued in 1910, Goldman's collection of essays outline her anarchist views on a number of subjects, most notably the oppression of women and perceived shortcomings of first wave feminism, but also prisons, political violence, sexuality, religion, nationalism and art theory.




Emma Goldman (1869-1940) was an anarchist political activist and writer. She played a pivotal role in the development of anarchist political philosophy in North America and Europe in the first half of the 20th century. 1338468. Shelved Dupont Bookstore.
