Squarish book, color-illustrated boards with American Indian wearing elaborate headdress on front and back, light green background, ink name inside top front cover, 107 pages plus ad for other books in series on nature. Beautiful color illustrations throughout by Karl Bodner who accompanied Prince Alexander Phillip Maxmilland of Wied who followed the route of Lewis and Clark 30 years later, plus color illustrations from George Catlin. Lightly rubbed at spine top and bottom edges, lightly soiled at top back edge, 1 1/4" tear at bottom page 105, page 73 creased twice. Near Very Good.
