London: The Hogarth Press,, 1957. First edition, first impression, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, "For Bryher with best wishes, William Sansom". Bryher was the pseudonym for writer and philanthropist Annie Winifred Ellerman (1894-1983), lifelong lover of H.D., and founder of Close-up, the first English-language magazine devoted to the art of film. Octavo. Original yellow cloth, spine lettered in reddish brown. With dust jacket. Head of spine and two corners bumped, very faint offsetting to endpapers, trivial crease to prelims. A near-fine copy in jacket, spine and edges lightly toned, head of spine and corners a little nicked and rubbed, short closed tear and 2.5 cm closed tear to foot of front panel, trivial marks to rear panel and head of front panel, unclipped, very sharp and fresh.
