New York: privately printed, 1917. First Edition. Publisher’s imitation vellum spine and cloth; near fine in a (presumably original issue) cloth dust jacket with gilt stamping. Bookplate of John A. Spoor (engraved by Emery Walker, a founder of the Doves Press). The author, who was a Prohibition candidate for Congress in 1902 and 1906, provides a scholarly account of drinking in America.
