Houghton Mifflin and Company, 1898. Hardcover. Very Good/No Dustjacket . Bound in blue boards. Top edge gilt; gilt spine titles. Two tiny white spots to Volume II, else both volumes in Very Good+ condition. Discusses all elements of the beginnings of the Revolution until the surrender at Yorktown. With maps, diagrams and illustrations throughout. Fiske wrote a series of books on American history, all of which remain very well regarded. An instructor of History at both Harvard and Washington University he was famous for his many hundreds of lectures, chiefly upon American history, in the principal cities of both the United States and Great Britain.
