About This Item
New York: The Museum of Modern Art, 1938. First Edition. Fine/Near Fine. First edition, first printing. Signed by Walker Evans and inscribed to photographer and collector Arnold Crane. Bound in publisher's original black cloth with white paper spine label with titles printed in black. Endsheets marred by removal of tape, else Fine. In a Near Fine or better dust jacket with light wear and light toning but a much nicer example than normally found, with yellow belly band lightly sunned at the spine. A sterling example, quite scarce in such beautiful condition and even more so signed. Based on the landmark Museum of Modern Art Exhibition of Evans' work.
