McCaig recounts the twenty year challenge he and his wife faced, beginning in 1971, when they moved to an abandoned farm in western Virginia and begin to raise sheep and till the land. First printing. Gently bumped and rubbed, spine slightly cocked, with an erasure mark on the front end paper. Jacket lightly rubbed and crimped, in Brodart. The book is dedicated to editor and literary agent Knox Burger. Inscribed on the dedication page "For Knox's classmate Babette, with best wishes. Donald McCaig. Charlottesville 29 August 1992.". Inscribed By the Author. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good.
