SIGNED by author on half-title page, with a personal inscription. NOT ex-library. Oversize hardcover has maroon cloth-covered boards with gold spine lettering. Front cover has rectangular paper paste-on illustration of a Staffordshire platter; gold ruled borders surround illustration. Top edges gilt. Black and white photographs. Binding tight. No visible wear to book. Pages clean and unmarked. 317 pages. Clear plastic dust jacket is worn, rubbed, and missing approximately the top one-third. Slip case is covered in maroon paper with an paper paste-on illustrated label on front. Slipcase is worn at corners and edges and is partially slit at the bottom edges. Label is stained and rubbed. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.
