A tight, clean, sound copy in black and white photo illustrated brown and white wraps with minor overall shelf wear plus there is some light creasing and fading on the spine plus there is some light label staining on the spine wrapping around onto the front and back near the top and bottom edges from library labels plus there is some light yellowing on the top outside paper edges plus there is some very light staining on the bottom outside paper edges plus there are the usual library stamps and pocket on the front endpaper, title page, dedication page, first page, and inside surface of the back cover. A biography that analyzes the character and public role of Jane Addams as well as its relationship to American history particularly in the years 1890-1915.
