Boston, William B. Fowle, 1823. 8vo. 460pp. Published in the year of copyright, but with the stereotype plates corrected after the sale of the first 1,000 copies. The publisher notes that "Errours in stereotyped books may be easily corrected" so that "a book of this kind may finally be made perfectly correct... It may now be considered as almost immaculate." The Boston School Committee ordered that this "be hereafter used in th publick reading schools instead of Scott's Lessons." A wide-ranging miscellany. A couple of small tears to fly and title leaves, and light foxing here and there. Early leather covers, worn at extremities, with one small wormhole to spine.
