About This Item

New York, NY: W. W. Norton & Company. Very Good+ in Very Good- dust jacket. 1980. 1st Edition; 1st Printing. Hardcover. 039301407X . This book is in Very Good+ condition and has a Very Good- dust jacket. The book and its contents are in generally clean, bright condition. There is some beginning bumping to the spine ends of the book covers. The text pages are clean and bright. There is a remnant of a previous owner's address label on the front endpaper. The dust jacket has several small to smallish edge tears and nicks, along with a clipped corner (not price clipped) . "Ms. Whedon began her radio and television career in 1952 as assistant producer of "ABC College News Conference." In 1958, when the program won a Peabody award for youth television programming, the show's producer and moderator, Ruth Hagy, insisted that Ms. Whedon, her "girl Friday," also take a bow. In 1960, she became producer of the "Issues and Answers" Sunday newsmagazine, and she is credited with being the first woman to regularly produce a television news series. She had overall editorial responsibility for the program, and she was awarded a Peabody for her work in 1968. She continued to produce that program until it went off the air." (from Washington Post obituary .
